With everyone's support and participation in 2026, we have been able to fundraise the full $300,000 needed for a new Wellington Free Ambulance.

This is a significant achievement and one we are extremely proud of. Our thanks go to our sponsors, students, and of course Ian and Lyn Lindsay who kindly doubled every dollar we raised.

How the Runathon works

Running

The Runathon is 100% organised by six senior students from Wellington College known as the "Super Six". The event starts at 6am, and runs for 12 hours until 6pm. During this time, participants try to run as far as possible whilst collecting donations from their sponsors per lap that they run.

Counting

These laps are then counted through our official app, with participants then being able to go to their sponsors with accurate lap totals to collect their donations. Total laps and total dollars donated are measured through our app with top contributors being awarded prizes.

Other Events

We also make a considerable amount of our total donations through other events and systems including our school ball, sponsors, year 9 dance, quiz nights, and more. 
All of these events can add up to create a meaningful difference in the Wellington community.
